Martin "Marty" Roy Huntley, 58, passed away on Sept 11, 2014 in Saratoga, WY, his home town. Marty was born June 12, 1956 in Portland, OR to Josef M. Huntley and Nellie M. Heminger. Marty attended Saratoga School. While growing up he lived in Ryan Park for a while and helped his dad with the logging and made many of the roads there today. On June 25, 1977 he married Jane Slater and they had 3 kids. Marty worked in many different trades. He logged for Jim Crowe, Lester & Tom Westring. Marty also worked at Arch Mineral Coal Mine with his uncles and many friends. The last job he really enjoyed was working for Shively Hardware as a Polaris mechanic. Marty enjoyed hunting, fishing, snow machining, camping and spending time with his precious grandchildren, family and friends. Marty was very active in the Saratoga Fire Dept., Carbon County and Saratoga Search and Rescue and was also an EMT for SCWEMS. Marty was active in Oddfellows and Rebekah's in many different towns. The community always knew if anyone needed help or an ear to vent to, Marty was always there. For the last 11 years, Marty fought a hard fight with cancer. He was awesome with helping others that are dealing with cancer also. Many people turned to Marty for guidance. Marty will be missed by all. Marty is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jane; three children, Jennifer (Mark) German of Saratoga, Travis Huntley of Cheyenne, and Susan (Brandon) Jackson of Encampment; his grandchildren, Taylor Huntley, Kyenna Jackson and Kalub German; sisters, Linda Gale of Rawlins and Brinda Miller of Arizona; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Marty was preceded in death by his parents, Josef & Nellie Huntley; a brother-in-law, Jon Slater; and his aunts and uncles. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Oct 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Valley Chapel in the Saratoga Cemetery.
